I want to move one folder from an outlook email account to another outlook account. Can I do this? I am getting very confused about it.

All help appreciated.

Just 'right click' on the folder you want to move, and click 'move' - and then click 'paste' to pop it into the folder you want the first folder to go into. Smile

Make sure the cursor is hovering over the folder your want to pop the first folder into.

I don't think that works for moving from one email account to another?

Go to the file menu - there is an import export function you can use to do this

I tried and spent hours googling and have never been able to. I think because the original account was basic with an expired subscription so I couldn’t even forward a lot of emails together.

Tippexy · 15/03/2022 08:46

You can’t do it. Think about it logically - the emails were addressed to [email protected] so of course they can’t be moved to [email protected]

Blast! Thanks everyone!

The only way to do this is via import export option, you need to export the folder as a .PST file, this can be save to your machine then go into your second account and import the .PST file from the location it was saved in

Sorry I missed that bit!

Yeah, as a pp said, you can't do it. You can 'forward' it though. The exact email and the time and date the original was sent will still be there.

Iorderedyouapancake · 15/03/2022 08:57

@Tippexy yes they can, using import/export functionality as stated above

You could select all emails and forward them to your new email address. You could then folder them there

GiltEdges · 15/03/2022 09:48

You can do this, if you’re using the Outlook app on a computer rather than the browser version.

I have two email accounts I use regularly, one in my married name and one in my maiden. If I need to transfer a number of emails at once from one to the other I just go into the folder where the emails are, use ‘CTRL A’ to highlight them, then drag and drop to the folder where I want them to sit in my other account.

If you’re selecting a lot of emails at once it might take a while, but it definitely works.

I have done it! I added the second email to the first email account, copied the folders across and then deleted the second email from the first email account.

Thank you everyone for your help.
