To be fed up with garbage customer service

I had to buy something online today. After several attempts I managed to buy it but then had to ring their customer service department to add an essential service that I couldn’t do online. This took an hour on hold.

I’ve just checked my bank and they’ve charged me three times. It’s £244! I’m now back on hold and don’t expect them to answer before 5pm when they close.

I’m just fed up with being fobbed off with really poor customer service. AIBU?

If you used a card, and I assume you must have for an online purchase, then c ontact your card issuer as a matter of urgency. They are able to refund you and take it up with the useless shower of twats company

Thanks - I’ve just been looking into doing a chargeback. I used my debit card and the bank says to try to resolve it with the company first.

As soon as the payments change from pending in my online banking I’m going to try to dispute them.

I suppose I’m hoping they’ll pick up in a minute and sort it out!

Sometimes the transactions show as pending if they failed and will automatically go back in a day or so. If the transactions didn't go through at first then this is likely.

To be fair to the company, it's a Sunday and most places don't have their core team working weekends so will maybe have a less experienced person covering the Sunday shift.

I would definitely be more forgiving if this was a small company. However, it is one of the largest travel companies in the U.K.

Thanks for the tip about failed transactions. I wasn’t aware of that!
