Hi all,

I found a few carpet beetle larvae a few months ago behind the bed in the guest room and managed to successful avoid an infestation thorough rigorous cleaning and use of carpet beetle spray.

I have now just found this bug in the box room, near some laundry.

This is a carpet beetle isn’t it? Another spring clean coming 😭

It does look like a carpet beetle. Where did you find it? I work in a museum and when we've had infested objects, we've bagged them up and put them in the freezer for 2 weeks. However I appreciate that may not be practical depending on where the infestation is!

Sorry just re read your post about laundry - I wish there was an edit button!

I don't know anything about carpet beetles but for any infestation of lice/fleas etc in animals you need to treat and then repeat after around 10 days to catch any new hatched larvae.
So advice would be to deep clean/spray, repeat after 10days and I would be inclined to do a 3rd treatment after a further 10 days.

Yes, looks like it. Move furniture and hoover under hidden areas. We've just found a few also. Must be the weather.
