I was just thinking about the small things I do, almost second nature, that are entirely unappreciated by DH.
I don’t mean big obvious things like looking after his children or cleaning the house he lives in. I mean small gestures that you don’t get reciprocated.
DH is in a mood with me and not talking to me, yet we got home and I instinctively put on the football. I don’t enjoy football. Every week I do Fantasy League because he gets enjoyment competing with me. I participate in chat. I go to his awful non league football team when we can at my own expense.
I’ve realised I do this purely for his benefit, not my own. And I’ve realised I never get something similar in return.
Anyone else do things like this? Make me feel better!
