I say Civil Service, that might be unfair. Maybe it's just the particular government department I work in. I wish someone would take a grip of it and stop allowing business areas to advertise if they haven't got any of the sift and interview support set up. This is invariably the excuse that's trotted out when you follow up with the vacancy holder.
Been waiting on sift results for over 6 weeks! It just feels like contempt for candidates' time.
