To ask about your bad day...

Happy Friday everyone.

The world is collapsing around us and this is definitely going to be a first world problem thread, but I need a laugh.

Please tell me about your bad days that started off so promising... only to be ruined by a series of irritating things out of your control.

Here's mine from last week:
Productive day all planned out, early night, no wine. Woke up at 3am with the worst toothache I've ever had - at the same time as my period starting a day early with cramps. Take pain meds, finally get back to sleep, dog wakes up howling for a poo at 5am. Walk to the gym in the rain at 7am, have forgotten my padlock so have to carry my stuff around with me. Forgot my water so have to use those little sippy cups. Call the dentist for emergency appointment at opening time, no appointments available. I break my husbands favourite mug whilst making coffee and put too much milk in mine so it's disgusting but I can't be bothered to make another. Grandmother calls with a series of racist rants so I end up pretty much hanging up on her. Have forgotten my nephew's birthday. Dog steals the washing from the line and is having a very feisty day in general. My laptop hasn't saved any of the tabs I had open. Dog jumps up and gets mud/poo on my new jeans. Sainsbury's out of pretty much everything I require. Over cooked supper and it's disgusting.... sigh...

P.s this is light hearted and I know how lucky I am to be safe & warm & have a home!

I'm having a battle with the corporate travel provider who are making the simple act of booking a train ticket into the most frustrating complicated process imaginable.

I could have bought the ticket myself this morning in about 5 minutes but oh no, everything has to go through the travel agent 'for efficiency, transparency and cost control' yet doing just that takes longer, costs more and adds a layer of bureacracy. Angry

I’m 31 weeks pregnant and basically knackered all the time. DSis was due to have 18 month old DD on Saturday night and DH and I were going to go to a hotel to have a last lovely night away, dinner etc before new baby arrives.

Wednesday night DD sleeps horribly - I got about 3 single hours across the night. Very unlike her. I head off to work on Thursday in a foul mood, knackered. Lunchtime, nursery calls. She has some funny spots coming up and they’ve just had a kid call in with chickenpox…

It’s chickenpox. So now I am:

  • looking after poorly, sorry for herself, non-sleeping DD (with DH, but when she screams, no one is getting any sleep!)
  • juggling working from home while she’s off nursery
  • not going away this weekend
  • not getting a break this weekend
  • massive, grumbly, and knackered

Blah.

Oh and Flowers Hedgehog and Barbara. Yes, there are other things going on in the world but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a much needed winge when then need strikes.

I'm very hungover and have to lead a 4hr online workshop this pm for overseas staff that don't speak very good English and apparently have very spotty wifi. 😭

First world problem here. Also self inflicted.

@BarbaraofSeville haha there's something about the complexities of corporate bookings and travel that is so infuriating. Probably the fact that it could be so easy.

@ShadowPuppets you poor thing bless you! Sending hugs your way! I hope you manage to get a night away soon...
