It's relentless.

The mobile bill is going up at the end of March too.

Is yours? When will it end?

Yes, there’s usually an increase on my tariff and then Virgin Media too around this time of year. I’m dropping my data down to reduce it. Should have done it a while ago tbf.

Indoorcatmum · 10/03/2022 22:46

Yup! £1.68 a month!

Thatsplentyjack · 10/03/2022 22:46

Yup. Haven't even read the email yet, just the bit that pops up when it comes through. All just fucking depressing.

LizzieMacQueen · 10/03/2022 22:47

Yes. Up 7.8% i think it said, in line with inflation.

Chely · 10/03/2022 22:49

Nope. Not had a contract phone for a very long time.

Chloemol · 10/03/2022 22:50

Yes it goes up each year

LittleOwl153 · 10/03/2022 22:50

Yep almost all broadband and mobiles and TV subs will go up 9.3% (CPI of 5.4% plus 3.9%) on 1st April.... Ouch!

goaskmum · 10/03/2022 22:51

I have read that Tesco mobile don’t increase their prices. I’m thinking about moving to them to be honest!

Passthecake30 · 10/03/2022 22:52

11.8%!

userxx · 10/03/2022 22:52

Netflix is going up too. It's all a bit grim at the moment!

WhyDoesItAlways · 10/03/2022 22:54

Mine is too.

Although weirdly my credit card interest has dropped. I couldn't believe it with everything going up so I checked the email 3 times to make sure!

Stigsmother · 10/03/2022 23:16

I'm with Tesco, they hold their prices until the end of the contractSmile

TheRealistBub · 10/03/2022 23:38

Nope £10 a month crew

WeAllHaveWings · 10/03/2022 23:43

Not here. £8/month giff gaff goody bag does me. Im not a big data user so 3GB is plenty.

Yep, this is true. I have a two year contract with them for a good Samsung with more of everything than I ever need, for £10 a month.
Duchess379 · 10/03/2022 23:45

No, I'm with Voxi, a fixed £10 p/m & I own my phone outright

goaskmum · 11/03/2022 11:34

Is this whole thing surrounding mobile phone networks increasing their prices a new thing? I’m with O2 atm and they did send me a text message a few days ago to say they are increasing my bill.

I don’t remember them doing this before, how they are allowed to do that is beyond me given you set up a contract and agree to pay a certain price!

Perhaps it’s in the small print, which I never read, so is my own fault.

BarbaraofSeville · 11/03/2022 11:42

Another Giff Gaff user, so not as far as I know.

I don't know why anyone has a mobile phone contract any more, it's a really expensive way to have a phone and even if you want a high end phone, there's usually ways to do it cheaper than entering into a 2 year contract with a main network provider.

BlueSpottedGiraffe · 11/03/2022 11:44

No I'm with a Tesco for this very reason, DP is with Three and his goes up every year don't think it's a new thing, it has always been one of Tesco's selling points.

WhyDoesItAlways · 11/03/2022 11:46

@BarbaraofSeville I'm not in contract, I've been on SIM only for years because it's cheaper to buy the phone outright than get into another contract but my SIM only deal has still gone up. Still cheaper than switching providers though and much cheaper than the current equivalent SIM only deals being offered by the same network.

TheSoapyFrog · 11/03/2022 11:59

Yes but it goes up every year. It's in the contract so it's never a surprise.

Lincslady53 · 11/03/2022 12:14

No. Both me and partner own our phones outright. Mine us z Samsung S9, partners an S7. I pay £3 per month on TalkTalk mobile., minimal data but I am usually on wifi, so no problem there. Psrtner pays £6.00 per month on Smarty, 4g of data and unlimited calls and texts.

AllOfUsAreDead · 11/03/2022 12:39

Nope on giffgaff. They aren't changing their prices as far as I'm aware.

OneTC · 11/03/2022 12:46

No mine just got cheaper

Cabbagepie · 11/03/2022 13:58

Mine has gone down from £14 to £8 a month - Sim only contract for 16GB data, unlimited calls/texts
