Covid test before holiday?

We are meant to be flying to Gran Canaria next week for a long awaited holiday. There is no requirement to test ahead of the holiday. My husband and I have a difference of opinion on whether we should or not. What would you do?

Yes - i would test before flying, don't be so selfish

No - covid is everywhere, we need to live with it now, go and have fun

I wouldn't be testing unless I was visiting vulnerable relatives.

Not a chance would I test unless I had symptoms.

I definitely wouldn't be testing unless I needed to (eg a requirement for travel or if I had symptoms)
