I ordered a bed from Made.com it wasn't cheap.

It arrived today in 4 boxes. I have now unpacked it and the headboard has a huge mark on it, it looks like it was stained and someone has tried to remove the mark so the surrounding fabric is now faded. It is unuseable.

Contacted Made on their web chat, was told they can send a "technician" out to see if it can be repaired (I think unlikely as the fabric looks like it has faded), but if not they will refund me as the time is out of stock. But they will have collect it and this will require me to repackage everything. It came in 4 huge boxes (typically the damaged item I opened last) which are now in pieces, I don't have any packing tape....I asked them what I was supposed to do and that they were welcome to collect it as is. No they said they don't offer that service, it has to be repackaged.

How is this my problem, this really really annoys me, I have ordered an expensive product, paid a fairly hefty delivery fee, it is in bad condition but I have to jump through a load of hoops to get my money back....

It is frustrating but they can’t refund it without it being returned so, for the sake of £1 roll of packing tape, I’d just pack it back up.
If they accepted things unpackaged, and people sent things back any old how, everything would arrive back damaged and unsalable so prices would go up to account for it.
Repackaging isn’t really jumping through hoops, it’s standard practice everywhere I’ve returned stuff to.
