To ask for remedies for ear infection pain? In agony

Hi all. Diagnosed with a severe inner ear infection yesterday. I'm on antibiotics but I know they can take a couple of days to kick in.

And omg, the pain is absolutely horrific. I would honestly rather give birth again. Funnily enough I am actually pregnant so will be haha but due to being pregnant I can only take paracetamol which takes the edge off for a couple of hours but that's it 😔

Any tried and tested remedies for the pain? I have tried warm compresses/hot water bottle and that seemed to make it worse.

Many thanks! Smile

If you have dissolvable paracetamol, gargle with it as you take it. Makes it work a bit better for some reason.

Otherwise, not a lot you can do I'm afraid. Like toothache, it's one of the worst pains in the world. I've been known to drink half a bottle of whisky due to ear infection pain but I wasn't pregnant.

On no, sounds awful. Speak to your GP as there are other pain killers you can use when pregnant but they’ll probably need to be prescribed
