My nephew in his early thirties put a comment up about how do you let someone know know that you like them. The above was a response from one of his friends/acquaintances. Every since I read it I think about it. Its horrible. Is it misogyny or banter???

You should call it out, but it gets exhausting after a while and I totally get why you might not want to be bothered with the backlash.

Otherwise just block the friend so you can’t see it anymore.

A friend allowed a comment similar to this (racist) stand on the fb page. I put a few comments and when it got nowhere, blocked the friend and the person who posted the comment.

I’d let him crack on with his comments.

I think your nephew needs to seriously reconsider his associates. He's in his 30s for goodness' sake. That's all horrible and not funny.

May be worth you or his parents pointing out that people who see that will assume he's the same, unless he rejects it, and that's not a good look. Especially to potential employers or girlfriends.

It’s banter. And it’s also misogyny. The two are not mutually exclusive. I wouldn’t say anything because it was a conversation between him and your nephew (albeit one that other people can see) and I suspect the aim of comments is to provoke women into objecting anyway, but I would report the comments.

Incredible that your nephew and his friends are doing this stuff in their 30s, carrying on like they’re in The Inbetweeners. I’d be inclined to unfollow your nephew if I were you.

Just advise your nephew to not start sucking the next time he sees that particular mate.
