So damn exhausted

This year alone I’ve had a bad reaction to my Covid booster, Covid, a very bad case of laryngitis and now a stomach bug.

I am so drained physically and feel like I am running on empty. I’ve been taking Floradix on recommendation from the pharmacist but I can’t say I feel any different weeks later.

Does anyone have any recommendations at all? I’m feeling quite low and want to make sure I’m doing everything I can to help.

I would request your GP to send you for a blood test to rule out anything else that might be going on in the background. I had a period of constant exhaustion and turns out I had folate and B12 deficiencies, so a course of folic acid and B12 injections were prescribed.

As well as taking iron, you could ask to get your thyroid checked - do you have any family history of thyroid problems?
With everything that's been going on though, it's not surprising you're feeling rough. Try to be kind to yourself - eat well, get outside to walk and go to bed at 9pm every night for a week!

Absolutely get GP to run bloods.

Definitely try a probiotic - symprove is good for many people. If you aren’t able to eat a healthy varied diet right now then also a prebiotic to feed the good bacteria in the probiotic to get your gut back in order, which will help your overall health.

Thank you all, I’m going to try and get a call with my doctor to refer for blood tests.

My mum has an under active thyroid and has been taking tablets for 20+ years now. I don’t seem to have had any issues previously though, but I will ask for my levels to be checked.

I will take a look in to probiotics and try them out, I’m honestly happy to try anything. With three young children and work, I am finding it all quite tough.
