Should I be worried about my 3 year old DS illness?

Hi,

My 3 year old started with tummy pain on Sunday. Then he was sick in the night. Seemed fine yesterday. Then he was sick a couple more times over the course of the day yesterday, but fine in between.
He’s been passing very very smelly gas though.
He hasn’t passed a stool since Sunday morning and is burping a lot.

This morning he won’t up and was sick again in the morning. He’s very lethargic and not like himself. He’s had a wee so I know he’s not dehydrated. He asked for food so I gave him half a digestive biscuit.

It’s strange because he was fine yesterday in between sick episodes. Running around and playing. But today he seems unwell.

He’s still burping and passing nasty smelling gas (sorry).

How often does he usually poo ?

Sounds like your classic tummy bug working it's way through his system. I'd make sure he's drinking plenty and give it a few days.

Tinysandwich · 08/03/2022 08:18

@GeneLovesJezebel he normally poos once a day or once every two days.

I just find it odd that he was fine yesterday even though throwing up and today he’s really lethargic and acting ‘ill’ I thought he’d be getting better, not worse after 36 hours.

You do get that pattern w tummy bugs but if you are worried you can certainly take him to be checked out.

My little boy had this last week. Started off sick and seemed OK but then after 3 or 4 days he was tired and clingy then the diahrea came! After that he started eating again and completely back to normal by day 7.
