Does anyone have a solar charger? Are they good?

Saw one years ago on a zero waste video and finally have enough disposable income to invest (always the way, you need money to save money) so does anyone have any they could recommend please?
I am also thinking of buying my daughter a wind up camping light to use as a night light as I'm just sick of buying batteries for the rubbish little ones.

Any other ways i can save on electricity that I haven't thought of?
I heard solar panels aren't all they are cracked up to be but we don't have that kind of money anyway.

I bought a solar charger and it was difficult to use and consequently I only used it once. Now gathering dust in a drawer waiting for me to Kon Mari it.

I have one but it’s only for power cuts and I keep it charged. So it sits on the window sill and I check it regularly. It works fine but I’d not use it as standard practice.
