The Cup a Soup that wasn't.

Asked Spouse to buy me a packet of Cup a Soups - as I am currently working in a building where the boiler doesn't work.

Came back to find he had bought me two Pot Noodles instead. He appeared to believe that they could be drunk and it was the same thing.

Should I LTB?

No but book him a hearing test and an eye test

I quite like a pot noodle

Blinkingheckythump · 05/03/2022 17:16

How were you going to make cup a soup without hot water if the boiler doesn't work? misses the point

BlondeWidow · 05/03/2022 17:17

You do not use hot water from a tap for pot noodles!!!! 😳🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

You use a kettle HTH

BuyDirt · 05/03/2022 17:18

How were you going to make cup a soup without hot water if the boiler doesn't work?

What? Confused

I presume she’ll use a kettle. And that she wants soup to warm her up as no boiler means no heating.

Gizacluethen · 05/03/2022 17:18

Pot noodles are far superior but that's not what you asked for.

Does he know what a cup a soup is?

BuyDirt · 05/03/2022 17:21

Instead of LTB, I would give him a pot noodle for tonight’s dinner and tell him to drink it. 😂

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 05/03/2022 17:21

You can microwave both ?
I asked my DP to get me a loaf of bread on his way home .. I specifically said HOVIS the white and red pack.. he said cut or uncut ??
Aye ? Hovis in a loaf , the red and white one has never come uncut has it ?
Dread to think what he would have come home with if I hadn't had gone and got it myself
Only LTB if he got a beef pot noodle or the sweet and sour one . No one eats those , it's the green chicken and mushroom one all day long

OnTopOfThePiano · 05/03/2022 17:24

Make him down the pot noodle then ltb

Blinkingheckythump · 05/03/2022 17:26

Oh in my office we have those always hot taps instead of kettles, which won't work if the boiler isn't. I didn't click the boiler mot working was in reference to heating and wanting soups for warmth

helpfulperson · 05/03/2022 17:28

I assumed she meant hot water boiler at first but see now she meant central heating.

Eh? You use a kettle surely. Have you been using a hot tap?
TheCanyon · 05/03/2022 17:30

What kind of pot noodle?

bellac11 · 05/03/2022 17:30

Ive learnt never to expect what Ive asked for if I send OH out for shopping, its a lottery what comes back

Halllyup17 · 05/03/2022 17:31

Take the noodles out if you must. You've then got powder and dried veg, exactly the same as a cup a soup. Personally, I'd prefer the pot noodle.

Sausagis · 05/03/2022 17:35

I don't feel I can judge without knowing the flavor pot noodles...

LubaLuca · 05/03/2022 17:39

I'd call that a win.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 05/03/2022 17:40

I’d prefer the pot noodle, and I’m sure you can technically drink them. Might need a face wipe afterwards

Sundancerintherain · 05/03/2022 17:46

Well, now I want a pot noodle. A curry one with warburtons bread and butter ...........

coconuthead · 05/03/2022 20:47

I believe he has just upgraded you! I can also confirm you can drink a pot noodle if no fork is available.

Smokeahontas · 05/03/2022 20:51

Cup of Pish, more like. Pot Noodles are superior.

OnTopOfThePiano · 05/03/2022 22:27

@JennieLee c’’mon enlighten us, have you drowned your dp in a bath of pot noodles yet?

Elieza · 05/03/2022 22:45

I’m bucking the trend as I LIKE sweet and sour pot noodles…(misses point)…

StrongerOrWeaker · 05/03/2022 23:01

Pot noodles are better than cup a soup so it was an improvireally ;)

DedalusBloom · 06/03/2022 06:05

Ooo I don't mind an Ainsley Harriot Szechuan hot and sour cup a soup if pushed. Pot Noodles have a weirdly powdery glutinous aftertaste. Which could be the appeal. Grin

JennieLee · 08/03/2022 16:24

I made him eat the nastier pot noodle - chicken and mushroom. I had the curry flavour one. Spouse has promised me never to buy pot noodles again.
