How long before

Am sitting in chair in usual salon, coming up to 30 mins now, no one has come near me yet. How long more do I give before walking out? Angry I really don't have all this time!

Did you have an appointment?

MorningStarling · 05/03/2022 12:49

I'd have gone already.

lateral · 05/03/2022 12:51

What chair?

The hairdressing chair? Who sat you down? What did they say?

A chair in reception? Have they even acknowledged your presence?

If you appointment was 12:15 I would have walked out way before now. Unless they came to explain the delay apologised and provided a nice cup of coffee and maybe 10% off my appointment.

Has anyone spoken to you OP? Have you checked in and been up to ask what's going on?

Gizacluethen · 05/03/2022 12:57

Have thy apologised or anything? I'd be leaving if they've just left you there.

Naughty1205 · 05/03/2022 12:58

Sorry, by chair I mean waiting for the hairdresser, have gown on since I came in, then just sitting here, now nearly 45 mins, can see my hairdresser doing highlights on another client. She's nearly done, I think, but this pisses me off everytime, normally not this long though. Giving them 5 more mins and less of a tip!

If no one has greeted you and if you haven't greeted them how do they know you are there waiting?

Ah sorry cross post

musicmadnessnumber57806 · 05/03/2022 13:00

Walk away WITH the gown

This is unacceptable then OP. Ywnbu to leave and explain why. They wouldn't hold your appointment if you were 50 minutes late, they should so the same consideration. It sounds like you have been double booked!

Less of a tip??? DO NOT LEAVE A TIP
Jamoffmytoast · 05/03/2022 13:01

Yes just leave if nobody has come to apologise

Glenthebattleostrich · 05/03/2022 13:04

I have walked out before because of this. They had the cheek to message me and say i owed them a cancellation fee. They were told where to go in no uncertain terms!

I now have an amazing hairdresser who does a fantastic job and doesn't overbook herself

vampirewellness · 05/03/2022 13:08

This really pisses me off.

My previous hairdresser would always overbook herself and would be 30-40 minutes late starting mine.

I've moved to a different hairdresser now.

BrutusMcDogface · 05/03/2022 13:10

Yes, just leave. This is shocking customer service.

Daleksatemyshed · 05/03/2022 13:10

Pull up your big girl pants Op and leave. If anyone tries to stop you leaving just point out that you've been waiting for 45 minutes without so much as an apology for running late and it's not good enough. They've probably booked an extra appointment in and think you won't complain. Prove them wrong!

pansypotter123 · 05/03/2022 13:15

Have they called you over yet??

DrManhattan · 05/03/2022 13:15

Don't book with them again

ZenNudist · 05/03/2022 13:15

I have stopped going to salons because of this. Used to take 4 hours. I hated being left at the backwash with conditioner on to "relax" when my neck was in agony and charged £20 extra for a "treatment". Then left sat in the chair for ages between the colour and the cut whilst someone else got a cut and blow dry. No no no. If they can't even make a start I'd have kicked off and gone after 30mins.

TopCatsTopHat · 05/03/2022 13:15

You are too nice. That's a piss take and you're being a doormat!

ZenNudist · 05/03/2022 13:16

No tip!!

OmgIThinkILikeYou · 05/03/2022 13:16

Overly invested in this thread now, have you left OP?

Naughty1205 · 05/03/2022 13:18

Thanks for the replies, sorry laughing about leaving with the gown 🤣 well she came over, apologised, but this will be my last visit. I wouldn't mind but there's about 9 salons in this town, so they really need to up their game! I always leave a big tip but not this time. Another thing, if my have wasn't so awful and badly needing treatment I'd have left sooner!
