AIBU to think this action by eBay to help Ukraine is mad?

I don't understand how suspending selling fees for users in Ukraine to alleviate cash flow problems and suspending all international deliveries to Ukraine and Russia is helpful. I find it hard to imagine anyone in the Ukraine popping down to Hermes or the post office to pop their eBay sales in the post even with zero selling fees! They are doing some good things but these others I find ludicrous

Total tone deaf virtue signalling, they should have been saying they'll donate some of their own massive wealth towards helping instead.

I'm sure the people who's houses are being shelled and cluster bombed are relieved they won't get any negative eBay feedback for late postage.

Is it like the Ukrainian airbnbs? You aren't actually buying something it's just a way of getting money there. Just like the Airbnbs that people are booking (no fees there either) so that people in Ukraine can get some money.

I'm not sure it's comparable to donating to a charity...

I think the aim is to enable the sellers to get money so people are buying things and then messaging to request they don't send the items but keep the cash! Basically really similar to the air b n b rental that's currently underway

The point is that people can use eBay to send money direct to individuals in Ukraine with no expectation of getting anything back.
