To expect more sunshine now that it is March and close to spring!

Basically that. I am fed up with the cold and clouds. We had a weekend of blue sky and it was amazing. When will we get more of that?? It is almost spring.

YANBU. I have actually been keeping a note of this, and I have seen the sun once in the last 26 days. Every single day has been grey skies and/or rain. It’s so depressing.

inthekitchensink · 04/03/2022 11:37

YANBU. Feeling very low at the neverending grey. At least there’s a few daffodils and crocuses. But the endless mud. Bring on spring

Cornettoninja · 04/03/2022 11:41

Nah, March/April/May are charlatans. They pretend they’re all daffodils and sun filled fields with frolicking lambs but they’re inevitably full of bonkers weather and the need to keep an umbrella and gloves on you at all times.

I’m in my forties, my brothers birthday is in March and mine in Feb. The weather is pretty reliably lovely on mine and it’s not a surprise if it’s snowing on my brothers.

Hospedia · 04/03/2022 11:42

It'll get gradually better over March then by April it's generally milder and more sunny. This weekend is forecast to be sunny and dry, just chilly.

I have photos of this time last year where my DC are thick of mud from being on the fields after a heavy rain and snow melt, they're wearing big coats and gloves. All of my photos for this time of year going back several years are similar.

Billandben444 · 04/03/2022 11:47

I expected to win the lottery last week and the big premium bond win but that didn't happen either. Life's full of disappointments.

User0610134049 · 04/03/2022 11:48

Yes! My phone has been reminding me of photos this time last year. We had a bbq in the garden end of feb 2021! ☀️

Knockoneofftheshelftowin · 04/03/2022 11:49

This is funny.

We have no control over the weather.

Don't expect anything.

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 04/03/2022 11:49

YANBU, it's shite.

Iheartmysmart · 04/03/2022 11:50

I remember the weekend before DS was born in March 2002, being sat in the garden at my mum’s house and getting sunburned! This year I think I’ll be building an ark.

It's rained non-stop here for 3 days now......

Laiste · 04/03/2022 12:29

YANBU it's been wet and cold for so bloody long now.

It doesn't help that we had a dreary summer.

We're surrounded by hills here and the wind whistles through the village like a knife when it's cold. The queue for school pick up is still everyone in big coats and hats - so i know it's not just me being a wuss.

Fed up with it :(

TellMeMoreHellebore · 04/03/2022 12:31

There's more sun than you think

My solar panels have provided us with free hot water all this week so far!

My solar lights in the garden are fully lit every night

My seeds on the windowsills and greenhouse have all germinated!!

Peccary · 04/03/2022 12:31

My phone is showing me memories of beast from the east 4 years ago, March cannot be trusted

MatildaTheCat · 04/03/2022 12:31

The world is a swamp if you are a dog Walker. Very fed up with it.

RocketPanda · 04/03/2022 13:04

I'm in Ireland and it's already the middle of Spring. It's been beautiful here the last few days, although cold. As long as its not raining I'm happy.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 04/03/2022 13:09

The weekend is not forecast to be sunny and dry near me.

About 6 degrees, heavy cloud and rain showers😒

garlictwist · 04/03/2022 13:45

Tuesday was a beautiful day here (Yorkshire, Cumbria). Not a cloud in the sky. Pretty shit and grey now though but there looks to be some sun coming next week.

Laiste · 04/03/2022 13:55

We had about an hour when the sun came out yesterday and i went down the drive to the bins in my cardi and it was ok'ish.

I said it to DH - i've been out in my cardi and it was ok'ish!

Then about 5 mins later the clouds came back over the wind picked up and yes, there i was on the school run in my big coat and hat again in the rain.

Ah - i see it's just started spitting with rain here already .... i do hope it's ramping up for the 3 o'clock piss down Hmm

Firebird83 · 04/03/2022 13:59

Sunny here in Devon today!

CallyfromBlakes7 · 04/03/2022 14:03

I think the climate has shifted a bit - March generally seems to be miserable these days.

It would help if the clocks went forward a bit sooner - first Sunday in March instead of last. It would mean that from Sunday it would be light until 7pm. Which would save energy and be better for womens' safety.

I did an outdoor fitness class the other evening and came back caked in mud. And my washing machine is broken. Whether I will ever get those clothes clean again remains to be seen :(
ofwarren · 04/03/2022 14:07

Lovely and sunny here today on the Fylde Coast. I needed my sunglasses for the first time this year.
Its bright out.

Is there a particular issue with women being unsafe in the early evening hours? I haven't heard of a connection between the change of clock and the number of attacks on women, is that something that has been measured?

The energy wouldn't make a difference for me as it would just switch to being used when it was darker in the morning

TheYearOfSmallThings · 04/03/2022 14:10

We had an absolutely glorious weekend here in London. Obviously it's been shit otherwise and is now dark, cold and raining despite a "2% chance of rain" Hmm.
