When my baby was born my friend Was all over her now fast forward it was her Birthday today and just a msg on facebook which is fine. I dropped some cake off to her she was getting in the car and was reversing talking to me and said she had to go i feel very upset she said she would also baby sit them made some excuse. I feel very hurt

Your baby is undoubtedly the most important person to you but isn’t to any of your friends. I appreciate that sounds quite harsh, but it’s the reality.

What was you expecting from her? She acknowledged the birthday, what else did you think she should be doing?

It's totally normal for people to gush over a newborn and then as time goes on, the interest usually gets less and less

If she was getting in the car there was evidently somewhere she needed to be.

If she was already getting in the car then she was on her way out.
Did you say what time you were going over to drop off the cake did you say when and what time or just a vague "I'll drop some off" ?

Also when you say she offered to babysit, did she mean then and there and it was arranged or just offered to at some point but nothing was set?

I agree with this tbh.

I think your expectations are too high really. If you hadn't arranged to go round, you can't be annoyed with her about her going out. Cancelling babysitting isn't great but she's not obligated to do it and I assume she had a reason for not doing it.

Sorry you're feeling hurt though.

Is there something going on in the background do you think? Miscarriage or struggling with fertility.

Sounds like she’s busy op and had somewhere to be . I’m not sure why your hurt !
