Hairdressers or Hair Enthusiasts HELP

Has my hairdresser naffed up my hair. Normally have a sharp/swingy mid bob which I either wear waved sligtly with the straightners or in a sleek Anna Wintour curled under effort (I do this with a hot hairdryer and round brush).

Went for a treatment a week ago in the middle of when I would normally get it done - if that makes sense, so go every 10-12 wks this was about 5.

HD remarked it had grown loads and I asked her to neaten it well I have no idea what she has done.

I don't know whether it's just too short for my hair type (wavy lots of it) but it won't dry or sit nicely, bits stick out, no matter I do, the underneath/last layer won't curl under and either just sits flat or flicks out. And it's a battle to stop the top layer curling and going in a funny direction.

Normally I don't even have to look at the back as it just sits nicely. It almost looks wonky now?!?! And forget curling it bits are just sticking out at odd angles!

They cut it by holding sections up and away and almost cutting into it, I can't tell you how they normally take length off but noticed this was different. Once they taken length off they normally go round and neaten it but pretty sure they didn't do this.

Is going back going to achieve anything or do I just need to let it grow (I'm booked in for the full mashing at the start of April) and hope that with a proper hair cut appt they do it properly....if they haven't already and I'm just going mad.

Have you had it cut shorter than usual? Shorter layers than usual? Have the ends been frazzled?

I've had a similar style before and I fried the ends with my straighteners. It went like yours after that and I had to grow it out.

HairBearDoCare · 02/03/2022 18:57

I barely ever straighten.

it doesn't feel shorter but I'm wondering if that's what it is, if they've taken off after 5 wks what they'd normally take off after 10.

Looks like uneven graduation

HairBearDoCare · 03/03/2022 15:28

@Desolate2nite it's wonky isn't it?! Are you a hairdresser? Should I go back or wait for it to grow down first? I don't want to end up with it super short to even it up. Urghhhh they are normally amazing as well!

Just want it point out that it still looks gorgeous- yes the cut may not be perfectly even and you may have trouble styling it but no one else would notice.

HairBearDoCare · 03/03/2022 16:45

Thank you @Susu49 that is very kind. I'm just used to it being so neat and easy to style.

It looks great to me!

KindlyKanga · 03/03/2022 16:49

It doesn't help but my first thought when I saw it was what's wrong with this then. It looks really neat to me but I am not a hair enthusiast and my hair looks shit.

fecklessfanny · 03/03/2022 16:51

It's shorter than you are used to I think and so the underneath but at the back is too short to go round your round brush and so is sitting straight-the top layer has gone round the brush so sits as you'd expect but due to the straigh bill underneath it's going pear shaped.

Blossomandbee · 03/03/2022 16:52

It does look slightly lopsided, although it could be the angle of the mirror/photo. The top layer looks like it's been taken too short to me so it's not sitting over the bottom layers. Also if they've taken it shorter than usual that could explain why it's not curling under properly as there might not be enough length and weight to it.
I agree it does look nice regardless though!

fecklessfanny · 03/03/2022 16:54

Almost like they've bevelled it but only 70%
So the under layer is chonky
Still looks lovely xx

That back view could be my hair. That's exactly what mine looks like. If the hairdresser does too many layers I get some sticky out bits as my hair is heavy and straight. It usually calms down once it grows a bit. Your hair looks great.

Yes I'm a hairdresser and I would go back to the salon
