To leave without saying goodbye

I was quite good friends with another woman at work for a few years. We went for lunch together most days, went for drinks/coffee and running together outside of work etc. She confided a lot in me about her messy divorce and debt problems it caused and I was her shoulder to cry on many times. About 18 months ago I moved to another team (not a promotion or anything, just a sideways move) and after that she completely disappeared off the radar (we've all been working remotely). I've messaged her a few times about how she is but have got very little back. Sometimes she's not replied at all.
I'm leaving my job this week and after it was announced lots of colleagues messaged me wishing me luck etc. but I've heard nothing from her. Do I message her before I leave to say bye and suggest to meet up for a coffee or something? Or just leave it?

Just go. You've tried and it's not been reciprocated.

Just leave, don't give her another thought.

Just leave it..shes overshared with you and has since moved on so doesn't want reminded of this time... Annoying but it happens.

Some friends are situational and fall away when things change. I’d just go.

SalmonEile · 02/03/2022 10:37

If it was me I’d just leave it now
But if you really want to you could drop her a line saying “I really enjoyed working with you and if you ever want to meet up sometime drop me a line”
Or whatever
But honestly if she hasn’t been in contact with you all this time I wouldn’t expect anything back

Definitely leave it. You sound like you have been a lovely friend to her but for whatever reason she doesn't want to reciprocate Flowers

PollyPerkins87 · 02/03/2022 11:09

No, leave it. Some friendships are for a season etc saying.

MissMaple82 · 02/03/2022 11:11

Has she met another man by any chance?

Everydaydayisaschoolday · 02/03/2022 11:14

I'd let it go. Some friends are forever but some come and go, particularly work friends.

Gilly12345 · 02/03/2022 11:24

Just leave and move on, it sounds like she has.

Not all friendships are meant to last.

Leave it
