Look it’s not even really a riddle but it’s driving me fucking bonkers. I’ve seen it posted by a friend of a friend on fb (they were tagged).

I know it sounds like a bunch of gibberish but you’re supposed to work out the pattern in the words or how each word or line links to the other. It’s really got me stumped. It’s something to do with (as the clue down the bottom says) skipping forwards and backwards in alphabetical order I think?

It goes:

MIND THE GAP

A curious entity, God.

(I know my opinion)

Quakers! Scientologists! Unitarians!

Whatevvvs!!!

Yawn ……

ZEALOTS!!!!

Xenophobes voicing total rubbish.

Pfffttt

No luck?? Jeeeeesus!!!!

HOP FORWARDS!
DODGE BACKWARDS!

(End riddle) any ideas?

Each word starts with different letter of alphabet and all are there?

Geraldgee · 02/03/2022 07:18

The first half, each word starts with a consecutive letter of the alphabet with one missed out each time. A (B missing) C (D missing). The last half is the opposite with the rest of the letters originally missed out 😀

Geraldgee · 02/03/2022 07:19

But the last half goes backwards with Z first and B last :)

Filterlea · 02/03/2022 07:19

Each word in first half is in alphabetical order skipping a letter, the 2nd half it reverses and skips 2 letters back to beginning.

PureBlackVoid · 02/03/2022 07:21

The first letter of each word is in alphabetical order, if you read it order of: first word, last word, second word, second to last word etc

PureBlackVoid · 02/03/2022 07:22

Oh no, i missed ‘mind the gap’ and only read a couple of lines - never mind🤣

PureBlackVoid · 02/03/2022 07:26

Third post because I have never been so invested but this actually works if you skip ‘mind the gap’ - maybe you’re meant to ignore that line (or ‘step over it’ like you would a gap)
fallfallfall · 02/03/2022 07:27

Isn’t it just a poem of sorts? Like the kind you can read forwards and backwards?

BakerMan · 02/03/2022 07:29

It can be read forwards or from bottom up?

ClariceQuiff · 02/03/2022 07:35

What @Geraldgee said. Skipping alternate letters up to 'yawn' then from 'zealots' onwards it goes back up through the missed letters.

Riddlestumped · 02/03/2022 08:13

Thank you!

I think this is it. Thank God, the title gave me flashbacks to Boswell!!!
Mamette · 02/03/2022 08:28

I think “Mind the Gap” is just the title and it’s giving a clue to the pattern.
