WTAF? Someone just threw a fucking brick at my house??!!

Just WHY?
Was in the kitchen (at the back) and heard this weird noise, go outside and find half a brick. Luckily no damage, though from the position of the brick they'd aimed for the window.

Def not from house btw, the brick is wrong.

My garden fence backs on to a main road, and we've had kids walking home from school etc opening gates/banging on fences but this is a new fucking low.

There was actually a weird situation the other day and I'm wondering if it was to do with that or just opportunistic because there is a house down the main road with a garden wall that fell down in the storm and is still rubble on the path.

The weird situation is that there was a car parked on the main road (not our cul de sac, behind it, used by lots of commuters to park every day as close to station) that had so many complaints/reports about it that we had the police knocking on doors because our back gates open on to the road. This car had no plates and had hidden the visible VIN with a sticker. It got removed by the council on Sunday.
I'm wondering if it's the angry owner maybe??

Fucking hell though.

Probably more opportunistic with the kids coming home from school and the rubble being down the road.

Can you get a video doorbell? Or check if your neighbours have any footage?

RozHuntleysLeftHand · 01/03/2022 17:14

I'm friends with both immediate neighbours, none of us have cameras at the back sadly, though now all of us are thinking about it! Fucking shitty kids if it is them.
If they'd broken a window it would be costing a fortune.

I was a dick when a teenager but I'd have never just thrown shit at people's houses.

Kids probably
I regularly have bottles/stones/bricks/banging on the windows. Had a lit firework thrown in once which was fun Hmm

LampLighter414 · 01/03/2022 17:16

Kids on the way home I reckon. Little shits.

KleineDracheKokosnuss · 01/03/2022 17:20

We had a beer bottle through the window once. Kids dicking about.

Wow that is fucking shit. At least we've never had fireworks ffs! Probably kids then but it doesn't half make you paranoid!

Round my way its eggs. I should be grateful 🙄
The local shops won't sell eggs to kids now!

pawpaws2022 · 01/03/2022 17:24

The police are being pretty proactive now luckily after quite a few years of issues and are threatening tenancy agreements which seems to be working
I still can't open my kitchen blinds but maybe one day...

PandemicAtTheDisco · 01/03/2022 17:28

We had a neighbour have a brick fight with another neighbour. I saw the broken bricks all over the front gardens of two houses nearby and was later told about the neighbour lobbing bricks.

Luckily none hit the other neighbour and the police turned up very quickly. I can totally see why the neighbour lost their temper though. I wish I'd seen it.

pawpaws2022 · 01/03/2022 17:30

This kind of shows the scale of it

God fucking sake.

At least I'm feeling a bit less paranoid now.

When you think it might be a targeted attack.....

My friend backs onto a park and the “delightful” teenagers there often think it’s fun to go through the bin and throw dog poo bags at her house!

She’s even seen them throwing the bags at each other and laughing. What would possess them to think that’s a good game?

CambsAlways · 01/03/2022 17:56

What is wrong with people! Makes me so cross!

iPreferBooks · 01/03/2022 17:59

Totally get CCTV (or cctv doorbell) or see if your neighbours do.
Report behaviour to the school so they know its going on
