Is it possible to get a varicose vein in this area?

Past few weeks I’ve had a painful right sided pain, waist area.

I’ve had a few popped veins in my legs and fingers in the past and know the pressure building is the painful bit, relief once the vein pops, this is similar to how the pain felt.

I could feel a lump but got DH to feel the area and he said it felt vein like, the swelling stems from below the right rib all the way down to the hip bone. You can see a visible lumpy swelling, almost like a varicose vein, not blue like you see in your leg.

My question is can you get these VV anywhere in your body?

It’s causing me discomfort when trying to lie on my right side.

Anyone else had similar?

I had them on my vulva when i pg with child 4 so yes i guess you could get them anywhere

I’ve searched over the weekend and know that the Vulva area, legs, sometimes arms, anus, are common areas, especially during pregnancy.

I’m not pregnant and the area this is in is weird.

Caput medusae?

Just looked at the images for this and the majority are stemming from the naval area. Mine are to the side, although unsure if you can get get ‘rogue’ veins with the same condition.

@JaffavsCookie I got them there when I was pregnant with DC2. He's 6 now though and they're still there!

Sounds like you need to call 111 and at the very least make an urgent appointment with your GP.

There are more things than 'just' varicose veins that you'd need to have eliminated.
