Is this ultrasound report ok?

I had a scan yesterday it was a growth scan and Doppler of the placenta / umbilical cord

Last scan two weeks ago baby was sitting above the 10th centile so it's slipped a bit in the past two weeks

Ive just had an iron transfusion as I was anaemic

The Doppler is what has worried me. I was having reduced movements x3 episodes 2 weeks ago at the last scan. I also have had several bouts of contractions though my Cervix was shut. So not labour. Swabs negative.

The MW came out and showed me my growth chart and then said she booked another Doppler for next week and if it wasn't good then a doctor review but is it something I should raise before then? Aibu To be worried? I've never understood the Doppler bits.

Thank you

Mine always said normal/good if that helps? I would suggest going back to your midwife to check.

Thank you for this,

Yes she said it was on the higher end of the range 😭 not any sort of reference to normal or not normal
But that we have to keep an eye on it and any reduced movements come in right away..

The trust has been subject to a massive enquiry which is still on going and is known for delivering below acceptable levels of care

None of us are medical, so none of us are qualified to give an opinion.

Having said that, all looks good to me - you do need a pinch of salt on EFW as there's a wide error margin. HC and so forth are all fine, all within the boundaries of "normal". Doppler reading are all also within normal ranges.

Honestly, if they had any concerns at all, they'd have made you wait for a consultant there and then.

Wingingthis · 27/02/2022 08:23

They would have told you there & then of any concerns and taken you to a “quiet room” and get a specialist midwife to come and speak to you to explain.
This happened to me at my 12 week scan anyway x

Yes she did take me to another room to tell me this but didn't really expand on it.

Thanks all I'll wait until I've had the Doppler next week

Its not the size that is bothering me I am very small my self

I was more questioning the Doppler of the cord

Its very hard to make sense of what's going on. The maternity services leave a lot to be desired in my trust

I imagine the OP is hoping someone (on here) who is medically trained can interpret the results for her.

The problem is you don't know who is medically trained. I could claim I am (I'm not) and then give the OP false information, if I was so minded. Not everyone on the internet is nice or who they say they are.

OP, I really would wait to see a real life professional. Take anything on this forum with a truckload of salt.
