Ukraine - donation advice

Am annoyed with myself that I didn’t screenshot, but I know I’ve seen a couple of posts on various threads re ways to donate money. Am sure most people know, but google Red Cross or MSF is a good starting point.

However, the reason for this post is for those of us with, for example, older relatives who aren’t as SM-savvy. I’m predicting an influx of links to click on to donate etc that aren’t genuine. This conflict will present another opportunity for the greedy cyber-scammers.

This conflict is obviously going to be dominating every possible area of online presence - and criminals will try to exploit it in any way that they can.

There are a couple of threads.

After reading them, DH and I have decided to donate to the Red Cross, in our case the Canadian Red Cross. Our donation will get a matching one from the Canadian government.

Also, the Red Cross has expertise and the infrastructure to provide disaster relief, including helping refugees which it appears are going to be a huge issue.

We have a friend that volunteers at quite a high level with the American Red Cross and we were impressed by what she told us about their planning and readiness.

Up to you of course but that is one possibility.
