Ostracise these megalomaniac regimes. I mean all 8 billion people. Stop buying their product's, visiting their countries, basically making them rich enough to carry out invasions or treat their people cruelly.

Perhaps the likes of Putin would have second thoughts

I don't know if it's that easy to stop buying things they produce.

Svara · 26/02/2022 16:03

Whose products? Just Russia? Or do you mean only buying from small businesses?

Lockheart · 26/02/2022 16:04

Russia produces an awful lot of wheat which is essential for many staple foods. Not that easy to just stop buying it when that could mean your population starves.

Cakelover17 · 26/02/2022 16:05

You realise several billion of these people live in their countries and have no choice but to be there and buy their products right?

Mysticguru · 26/02/2022 16:29

I don't buy Chinese products if I can help it.
I would give up wheat products if I knew it was made with Russian wheat
I certainly wouldn't travel to either country because I don't agree with their regimes.
The worlds population is 7.9 billion.
Chinese and Russian population combined is 1.6 billion.

This is not to hurt the people of those countries but to make their hierarchy think about what the consequence's are for their aggressive politics and their disdain of human rights.

That phone in your hand OP...
Google where it was made and where the materials came from.

mudgetastic · 26/02/2022 16:34

I think everyone in Europe turning off thier gas boilers for the same hour would do more good than flag waving protests

BearOfEasttown · 26/02/2022 16:37
Confused

It would absolutely hurt the people trying to go about their day to day lives long before it hurt billlionares and other powerful people.

Those in power would look after themselves and their mates and their people would just be left to suffer the wrath of the rest of the world when the majority of them are as outraged as we are.

Are China and Russia the only countries in the world that have leaders or regimes you object to?

Great, you might but millions of people don't have the luxury of choice. Flour, bread, pasta, are crucial staples in other countries. Not to mention it's also needed for animal feed.

What do you suggest families in e.g. Nigeria or Egypt do if their government stops buying wheat from Russia?

Thebestwaytoscareatory · 26/02/2022 17:12

Do you buy British, American, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Belgian, etc products?

Mysticguru · 26/02/2022 19:23

At least the sporting world has come together today to make a statement
