Viagogo and Seetickets, feels like a scam

Hi has anyone had this issue or can advise? My son bought some tickets on viagogo for himself and his friend. They now cannot go so he sold them on viagogo for a little less than he paid. all good.
Now viagogo is telling him on purchase of the tickets, the tickets were transferred to Seetickets. He cannot sell the Seetickets tickets on viagogo. He can only sell them on Seetickets.
Viagogo have kept the cash the buyer has paid. They have told my son he needs to buy two new tickets to send to the buyer.
If he does what they are saying he will need to have bought 4 tickets and get no cash!
Anyone have any knowledge of these companies and encountered this before?
Thank you for your help

Viagogo are awful. Really awful.
Keep complaining and use their Twitter.

I had a really bad experience with viagogo. Managed to pay double the price I though I was paying for tickets. No advice sorry just symathy.

Why have they transferred them to seetickets?

CharlotteRose90 · 26/02/2022 11:23

Sounds the buyer sold them on and then claimed they’d been sold already so have 2 lots of money. You need to keep emailing or ringing to sort it. It’s a scam

kitcat15 · 26/02/2022 11:25

He probably needs to put it down to experience....but its very shit

whereisthejasmine · 26/02/2022 11:26

its viagogo saying that the tickets son sold on viagogo dont exist (as viagogo transferred them to seetickets)
dont think the buyer did anything wrong
just dont know how to proceed, ie he has a buyer on vaigogo for two tickets, and two tickets available on seetickets

Was he made aware that the tickets were being sold on a 3rd party website. He needs to check all his paperwork etc and refund the buyer then sell the tickets on the other website. If they transferred properly he’ll have a different reference number and can contact see tickets to confirm they have the tickets active still.

@underneaththeash - that bit confuses me too. He got this email but thought it was about how he could see the viagog tickets, and had no idea this meant his tickets had been transferred to another site, and that resale was now governed by a different sites terms and conditions.
email received: .....
We would like to inform you that your tickets have been made available as Mobile Tickets powered through See Tickets. These are transferable tickets and are sent to you via email with an attached image. This image will have your ticket information along with a barcode. All you will need to do is make sure you are able to access this by mobile phone, and show the barcode on your mobile phone when entering the event.

In order to get your tickets, you will need to create a See Tickets account and download the See Tickets mobile app. You will be receiving an email notification from See Tickets to the email address used to purchase your tickets on Viagogo.

When creating your account you must use the email address and name on your Viagogo account. Once your account is created you will find that your tickets have been sent to you.

Please confirm once you have created the relevant account and the seller will transfer the tickets, please note the tickets cannot be transferred without you having already created the necessary account.

Once the transfer is successful log into the See Ticket account or Team App on the day of the event and show the tickets on your mobile phone.

Kind regards,
Sarah

Oh no . Yeah that email confirmed they’ve been transferred. He needs to refund the buyer. I’d be annoyed on both sides at this but he’s made a mistake.!

whereisthejasmine · 26/02/2022 12:12

I cant understand how he has to refund the buyer when he has not been given the cash from the buyer, viagogo have kept it

it gets more bizarre - he has, in theory, two tickets on Seetickets. However if he logs into Seetickets, there are no orders, no tickets.
