Noticed this circle appear a couple of times whilst in different video calls.

Searched online. Does anyone know if this means a screenshot was taken?

That's the buffering symbol surely?

TellerTuesday · 24/02/2022 07:41

Doesn't it just mean the connection is struggling and it's buffering??

Dyrne · 24/02/2022 07:41

It’s a loading symbol, it means the video/connection dropped out briefly; nothing to do with screenshots.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 24/02/2022 07:41

It's buffering

Wherehasthecommonsensegone · 24/02/2022 07:41

Isn’t that just when your internet is buffering/poor connection?

Techquestion · 24/02/2022 07:47

Thank you. I was hoping it was buffering. I just had doubts. Really appreciate all your help.

Thats just the symbol to show that the internet connection has slowed or dropped.

You would not know if the other person took a screen shot
Most phones have the option to screenshot using the camera app which is independant of any app working on the screen

If the person had an app which recorded the data flow on the screen they could record anything showing up. Someone is going to have written one just to see if they can.

Assume if its transmitted its recordable.

Thesearmsofmine · 24/02/2022 08:36

You wouldn’t be able to tell if they took a screenshot. Just don’t do things on camera that you wouldn’t want getting out.

Triotriotrio · 24/02/2022 08:44

That's a buffering sign. If you are worried you can set facetime to not allow screenshot. It's in the settings

luxxlisbon · 24/02/2022 08:46

This means the video is buffering, however anyone can take screenshots of a video call with you whenever they want and you wouldn’t actually know.

PotteringAlong · 24/02/2022 08:48

I agree with everyone else - it’s buffering. You have no way to know if a screenshot has been taken or not.

ImprobablePuffin · 24/02/2022 08:57

They could well have taken screenshots but this is the buffering symbol. You wouldn't know about it if they took screenshots. Why are you worried OP?

slashlover · 24/02/2022 09:05

Did you take a screenshot because you were worried that someone else had taken a screenshot?
