do not understand the Amazon ad - is it just me?

So, this ad has just been on. Again. Am I spectacularly stupid, because I just don't understand it. Little boy saying in his day he didn't know when the cars would overtake, and he had to draw in crayon. Is it set in the future and he is looking back at his childhood? Is it an adult with a child's voice looking back at the pre internet years? What is the overtaking thing anyway?

Or is Amazon being terribly clever and giving us an ad that makes no sense in the hope that someone will start a thread on MN??

Link?

I know the advert you mean I assume it's the dad as a young boy explaining what life was like before the internet made everything easier. The guess about who was going to overtake I think refers to the commentry being far more basic back then it's very technical now with the names switching around at the side of your screen so you can see who's going to overtake . That's my take on it anyway Smile

Is that the one that says AWS at the end.

If it is, it is for Amazon Web Services, which is a business to business IT offering, rather than anything for us consumers
