Posting here for traffic

Have 2 independent primary age children (6 and 8yrs) and a new baby

Need to try and create some 1.1 alone time with each of the older ones but keep getting getting thwarted by need to cook/ homework / clubs / laundry etc etc

Our time together just feels like survival at the moment. I'm often nagging or telling off when 8 mean to be hanging our with them Not quality

Anyone got any ideas on how to sneak special moments in?

Need to be simple as life is full on enough at the moment!

(I have a cleaner and no option for help. Husband in office 7am till 7/ 8pm every day- needs to be this way to pay bills)

Honestly with a new baby take it easy on yourself! Do you have visitors? Could you do simple things like a puzzle or colouring etc with the big ones whilst visitor holds baby? Have a movie night on a weekend and let them stay up a bit later till daddy is home (to help with bedtime) and all cuddle up on sofa with blanket and some popcorn - and baby obv. Go out for a walk if your feeling upto it so baby naps in pram and get a treat in the cafe? Honestly it takes a while to adjust to having a new baby for everyone and you'll get into a routine and things will become easier.

Bedtime. Take the time with each of them to read a story/tuck them in have a little chat.
Bring a child into the kitchen with you do help you with cooking (taking an extra 5 mins to do what you were going to do anyway but making it special time with a child).
But bedtime is your best bit to get regular beneficial 1:1 connecting time.
