New to HRT and getting period like cramps

Hi all, brand new here so please bear with me! I’m 53, had fibroids removed 16 months ago which stopped period’s completely. I’m now 8 weeks into taking oestrogen gel, 2 pumps per day plus Ustrogen at night. Generally feeling miles better, sleeping well etc but recently started getting what feels like period pains a couple of hours after using the gel. Anyone else experienced this and will it go? I feel like I’m going to ‘come on’.

I'm on the combined pill and am still having periods. I did experience similar when starting hrt but not 8 weeks in. Might be worth checking if our with gp if it continues.

When this happened to me it was because I was on too high a dosage. It was reduced and the cramps disappeared.
Also the waking at night was resolved with taking more progesterone. It can take a few tweaks to get the right levels.
