Govt accessing so many individuals' information with 'Covid' as an excuse

Because 'free' lateral covid tests are disappearing I wanted to get a pack from the NHS whilst I could, just in case. I didn't feel comfortable with the questions being asked in order to access the tests as I thought, either they're available or they're not, so I didn't bother going forward.

On the same note, I needed to have a LFT when I went to France on the Eurostar last November. We ordered the LFT covid tests from the NHS, for free. There were several in the pack when they arrived. Then found out the NHS wasn't on the government approved list for travelling, so had to order from a 'government' approved company which gave us two test kits for around £40.

How did you not know that you can't use NHS tests for travel? What information did you object to providing?

Why should the NHS pay for people to take the tests to go abroad? Should they also pay for people’s malaria jabs if they fancy a jaunt to foreign climes?

I’ve ordered LFTs online and don’t remember being asked for any info other than the screening stuff to check I was correctly ordering lat flows instead of taking a PCR.

If you don’t want to answer the qus then just walk into your local library where they’ll give you some without any questions (if it’s a designated collection centre)

The NHS already know a fair bit about me, my entire medical record since the day I was born etc etc, so I really can't get worked up about them knowing I've ordered a box of lft's.
