To have no idea how to change my stupid Vax filter

I've got a Vax Power 4 hoover someone kindly gave me but it keeps stopping working. I think because of a filter in the side. However I can't get the bastard cover off. Google isn't helping, nor is You Tube and nor is the Vax 'help' line. I am hoping another mner might have one of these and be able to help me please before I lose the will to clean?....

I don't have that exact one but with my vax to get the filter off I have to use all my strength to do the turn anticlockwise to remove filter cover. it's stuck on like a bitch!

I agree with pp. I have a Vax blade and I struggle to get it off. I absolutely can’t get it back on once I’ve cleaned it, DH has to do it, it’s so tight.

Thanks so much! Its very similar to the video and knowing it's so hard to remove gave me the confidence to lever it off with a knife. Stupid things still not working but at least I know its not the filter!
