To be pissed off at oh

I've slipped a disc in my back. It's slowly recovering. We have a large dog who is not great on lead. I can't currently walk him so it's been down to oh. He took him out this morning they got sopping wet. He didn't bother to dry dog when he got back. I came down an hour later to a mud covered kitchen - the units, walls, floor. Oh said he though dog would just dry off!! He said he would clean it but I ended up doing it as I had more time. He took dog on afternoon walk did exactly same thing!! Kitchen covered in mud again.

You should've let him clean it the first time. I doubt there would've been a second time then.

TheFlis12345 · 18/02/2022 16:47

Yup just that. Make it his problem.

WhatEvenHappened44 · 18/02/2022 17:01

Don't clean it, as much as you feel the need to. Keep on at him until he does it.

He sounds useless

KindredKeely · 18/02/2022 17:02

why did you clean it then expect different behaviour next time around?

PurpleDaisies · 18/02/2022 17:03

You should have left it. You’re enabling your oh to get away with being thoughtless.

Is this typical of your relationship?

LittleOwl153 · 18/02/2022 17:04

DO NOT CLEAN IT FOR A SECOND TIME!!!

PolkaSpace · 18/02/2022 17:05

He's not a child. I assume no disability that means he can't do it. So let him do it. You had to learn to clean through experience no one is born knowing how to clean.

autienotnaughty · 18/02/2022 17:23

I have left it and he's cleaned it all just so irritating. He had a face like he was sucking a lemon the whole time! I've also talked him through drying the dog in on the mat 🙄

That would make me aaaggghh but then I am peri menopause and my patience is terrible and I used to be so calm and now am losing the plot..start hrt next week. Anyway poor you that sounds extremely painful and you need to be resting and not getting up and down and cleaning as will put your back into a spasm and you will be set back in your recovery. Go and show him step by step what you mean. So annoying that we have to show some males how to do things and then they say we are nagging but if they did it right in the first place then would not be an issue. Understand re the mud as have a dog and grass outside like a mud bath and have to do paws or else it is everywhere.

BOOTS52 · 18/02/2022 17:27

I had to show my son also how to do the paws thing on the mat. They never do it the same and is a half job. Wishing you well on your recovery.
