Driving today - storm Eunice

I am supposed to be driving 120 miles from London to Worcestershire today to an appointment with a solicitor regarding my late mother's estate and to collect her ashes. I would be meeting my brother who will also be driving a similar distance. Given the Met Office warnings, I have made the rather late decision not to go, but cannot contact my brother at the moment to tell him (phone turned off). Am I being reasonable or am I being a wimp not going? Supposing my brother doesn't pick up his messages and decides to set off in the morning (I am the one with all the necessary papers for the appointment)? For context, it is a journey I am very familiar with driving, but I am getting on a bit (almost 70) so maybe a bit vulnerable. Feeling worried about letting him down, breaking appointments versus possible danger versus being seen as overreacting to the possible danger!

If he has any sense he would be checking with you before setting off surely

I wouldn’t be driving anywhere unless really urgent

I would do exactly the same and hopefully the appt though inconvenient can be rearranged.
I'd hope like a pp said your brother would be speaking to you first thing to discuss travelling with such dangerous weather.

We did speak earlier today but at the time I hadn't really taken in how bad it was forecast and said I would go.

Can you text him?

I'm in Worcestershire and we only have an amber warning? Normally nothing happens apart from a stronger than normal wind. (But I do not know any more than that!)
