Would you take a 14 yo to a nine inch nails gig?

That's it really. They would enjoy the music and listen to this type of music on Spotify, but what do you think for a first live gig? Going with adult family members not friends. What do you think, pros? Cons?

Assuming there are no restrictions about 14 year olds getting in, absolutely I would.

wheresmyshoe · 17/02/2022 19:44

When, where? I'm there!

Yes, because the fans are brilliant and your 14 year old would be looked after by family and at no risk from fans.

grey12 · 17/02/2022 19:44

If you do, maybe choose the stalls instead of the moshpit Wink

Danikm151 · 17/02/2022 19:45

Yes!

Hermione101 · 17/02/2022 19:46

100%! I wish someone took me when I was 14!

Subeccoo · 17/02/2022 19:46

Absolutely!
I took my 10 year old son to the foos and it was crazy as you'd expect but even now 12 years on he says it was one of the best days of his life!
If the child wants to go then do it!!

OneTC · 17/02/2022 19:48

100% yes

GerardWay123 · 17/02/2022 19:48

Ì took 3 teenagers to see My Chemical Romance, they checked my bag and told me I was a rubbish parent as I hadn't even smuggled in sweets.

Rubyupbeat · 17/02/2022 19:49

My sons were 5 and 7 when they first saw nin.
They'd seen loads more bands before that age, including festivals. Never too young.

Yes, definitely take them. And if there are no age restrictions on standing, go for General Admission tickets!

Security checked my bag
forlornlorna · 17/02/2022 19:50

I had my kid at a slayer concert at that age. Have fun

Carbiesdreamhouse · 17/02/2022 19:52

Only with ear plugs. I'm paranoid about hearing damage.

OmgIThinkILikeYou · 17/02/2022 19:54

I went to a sum41 concert around that age. It was excellent!

forlornlorna · 17/02/2022 19:55

@GerardWay123 😂

PollyPeePants · 17/02/2022 19:59

Yes definitely

ultrablue · 17/02/2022 20:04

So jealous, I want to go, absolutely take them, it'll be a fantastic first gig.

AmberGer · 17/02/2022 20:12

So jealous of a 14 year old!
Was listening to Downward spiral earlier

AmberGer · 17/02/2022 20:14

But yes, take them. They'll love it!

OneMoreTimeThen · 17/02/2022 20:14

Absolutely!

Haggisfish3 · 17/02/2022 20:15

Yes. Dd (11) has been to loads of gigs with me. Loved them all.

Iggii · 17/02/2022 20:16

I saw them years ago - venue was over 18s but presumably this one isn't, OP.
It would have been fine.
I was surprised to see Trent's name at the end when watching Soul with my dc, I hadn't realised he did soundtracks

Grendalsmum · 17/02/2022 20:23

Is this Eden Project? Definitely! It's going to be terribly civilized, you don't have to mosh ... DP took DS2 to Metallica when he was 12 and DS1 to Sabaton when he was 14 - happy days!

BuddhaForMary · 17/02/2022 20:25

Took DS1 to a Trivium concert when he was 8. Took DD1 to Fall Out Boy at 11, and a couple more pop punk bands, taking DD2 to My Chemical Romance in May - she's just turned 11. So in a nutshell, I would.
