So I've been on all kinds of meds and been unable to do proper exercise for so long that I have 4 stone to lose. I also eat my feelings. I have been put on an amazing new drug thats made me on 12lb in 3 weeks and swell like a balloon!
However I've got 2 weddings to go to! I'll probably have to go in a wheelchair and just want to look nice. Any advice for an size 18 mid 30 Yr old with a massive tummy? Cheers

Nice flowy dress with empire waistline? Doesn't have to be full length.

PriestessKahlo · 16/02/2022 18:34

Notimeforaname but where do they do these beautiful dresses? I saw someone who asked the same question and was directed to simply be?, but it was very bridesmaidesque.
Just realised this isn't the place for fashion advice, so thanks

Do you have a budget in mind? What colours do you like to wear?

I've seen people get fantastic fashion advice here ! Smile

Notimeforaname · 16/02/2022 18:47

A quick google of your size and that style dress, options have come up for of course, Asos and boohoo.com but M&S also have some. Mostly floral design..

motherofcatsandbears · 16/02/2022 18:49

Monsoon, Seasalt, White Stuff, Fat Face all do beautiful dresses with empire lines. Just make sure you get a small, ditsy pattern rather than a big splashy one (too unflattering).
I get mine from eBay and Vinted.
Make sure you know which colours suit you (I swear by colour me beautiful or colour matching).
Knock em dead, kiddo - I’m sure you will look fantastic xx

What’s your budget?

girlmom21 · 16/02/2022 19:06

Have a look at Yours. They do lovely clothes.

LittleGwyneth · 16/02/2022 19:29

What budget are you working with here? I would try ASOS as a first port of call.

I'm thinking £70 max.@motherofcatsandbears thanks for your fab advice. Would this print be too bold?

That's a lovely dress for a wedding and it looks very comfortable too.
motherofcatsandbears · 16/02/2022 22:40

@PriestessKahlo yes, that dress is lovely. I also found these on eBay

NEW Ladies Womens Studio 8 Phase eight LUNA EMPIRE MAXI DRESS Size 16-18 NAVY £49.99

MODA George Burnt Orange Maxi Boho Dress UK 18 Cut Out Empire Line Micro Beading £11.99

Bear in mind your own comfort and don’t get your dress caught up in your wheelchair!

I found this dress and I want it sooooo much. But can't find it anywhere in my size. Even DH looked interested when I showed him a pic of it and said yes- get that one.
You lot are brilliant, I havent been in a mobility scooter long and didn't even think wbout the entangling issue .
In the end I've bought 2 monsoon dresses to try. I will post photos for anyone who's interested when I get them.
