The last year my boyfriend is having trouble falling asleep till the early hours.
He is on medication which makes him wide awake till 2/3am
We have came to London for 3 nights and got here Sunday so staying in hotel.
He is watching tv till stupid o clock so I can't sleep.
Sunday night it was after 2am and last night near 3am.
I can't sleep unless in total silence and the noise and flashy lights keep me awake
I'm in London with him till Tommorow but I'm bloody shattered.
I wake up at 8 am like clockwork and he tosses and turns all night so it's broken sleep.
He is driving me mad.
Aibu to think it's a bit selfish ?
But I understand if he isn't tired then he isn't tired.
5 hours sleep isn't enough for me.
It makes me grouchy and I dread bed time
I'm not asking him to go asleep at 9 pm but midnight would be fine.
He refuses and watches tv anyway

You've got a lot to think about if you see this relationship becoming a long term thing. You can't live a life without sleep. He can't spend hours restlessly awake next to someone sleeping, afraid to move. To live together you'd need separate bedrooms wouldn't you?
The fact that he's refusing to even meet you half way on this makes me wonder if he's much of a catch anyway.

I wouldn’t have shared a room with him after that, that is bloody ridiculous.

I sound similar to him, but I have to read. I read on my phone under the covers with my nightlight on my phone. It doesn't disturb my BF. This isn't ok. He's showing no compromise and no thought for you.

Yeah he's being really selfish, if he can't sleep he could listen to a podcast on his phone with earphones or something that wouldn't disturb you

It's not bad when we are at home.
As he just watches tv in the living room the comes into bed after but holidays /breaks away are a nightmare.
Sunday night was the Super Bowl
Bloody Eminem at 1 am !
