I just wonder why people are so quick to be mean, insulting, nasty and totally unforgiving on here.
Some of the responses to peoples real life issues are just cruel.

Why are people like this? It's so nasty, does that mean they're like it in every day life too?

Urghhh.
AIBU?

The worst one is women in abusive situations who get asked "why did you even have kids with that man"

"Oh I'm not sure, give me a second I'll just put them back so you can offer me some constructive advice" Confused

I think people hide behind the anonymity and just say whatever pops into their head that they wouldn't say in the real world. People sometimes forget it's a real person with real feelings that they're speaking to and I do sometimes wonder if people come here with the intention of being unkind under the masquerade of "I just say it how it is" or "you're posting on AIBU, what do you expect?"

Thethreecs · 15/02/2022 16:47

Some responses are cut throat. I find myself previewing my replies a couple of times but sometimes I then see it posted and think I might have been a bit harsh.

I don't ask for advice on here, my brain couldn't handle it. I find myself typing out posts and then deleting it.

I do get annoyed when obvious troll threads are posted and people offer money and goods and I'm sitting on my hands because if I reply I'll be banned for troll hunting.

Sometimes I understand why people can be cut throat, if having a bad day it can reflect in your replies. I'm having one of those day today after dealings with 3 separate women in rl, they really affected my frame of mind and their vile nastiness is making me want to lash out. Maybe that's the same for others, however I do believe that there are also real cunts in this world 😜🤣

I just people could be a little more kind and remember that we're all flawed human beings trying to do our best.

YANBU !!

If you don't like it, take it up on the thread in question.

There was once a troll who used to get off on MNetters falling over themselves to agree that we're all bitches.

We're not. And a site where the pervasive message that women must 'be kind' all the time is a rarity - there are plenty of other places online if the ethics here does not suit

Report a post if you feel it breaks talk guidelines.

I always wonder if those comments ever lead to some horrible tragedy. Such as a person who feels they have no way our killing their children and commiting suicide afterwards.
insuretothecore · 15/02/2022 21:18

I also hate the
Ltb
Just get a job
why font you earn more money
why are you a sahm if you want to work
why are you working if you want to stay at home
go no contact
why did you cut contact?

and the absolute most disgusting one.
you need to talk to your Dr your anxiety / mental health / etc is really disturbing.

it's so sick. or the ones who jump on medical advice threads with 111 now or worse 999 now
why haven't you gone to the hospital yet do you want your child to die?

I hate that one too. Around 45% of all pregnancies in the UK are unplanned. Are we really telling women with unplanned pregnancies and abusive husbands that they must abort?
EngTech · 15/02/2022 21:44

IMHO I think it is very easy to be a Key Board Warrior

Have the same conversation face to face, the conversation is not the same 😳

In work, I call out Key Board Warriors, ask for a face to face meeting to discuss their comments, for some reason I get an apology that they did not actually mean it 😾

Purpleraspberry · 15/02/2022 21:55

YANBU. I have no issue with blunt hinest replies, however some people on here can be nasty. I was told on here a few weeks ago I lead a haphazard lifestyle and am impacting my kids because I rent!

Purpleraspberry · 15/02/2022 21:55

*honest

Has anyone noticed that on AIBU, the first response to the thread generally dictates how it’s going to go. I find it’s usually because most people further down haven’t read the whole thing and are just jumping on the bandwagon and are either being really kind or real arseholes.
