What the hell is romantic about sharing my dessert?

OP posts:
itwasntaparty · 14/02/2022 19:05

Urgh. Nothing at all!

IncompleteSenten · 14/02/2022 19:05

Fuck all.
I'm with you. Come near my pudding I'm stabbing you with my fork!

Chely · 14/02/2022 19:07

Nothing!! I don't love my husband that much 🤣

Arabellla · 14/02/2022 19:13

I don't like the concept of sharing dessert, but I can get behind sampling each other's. Just a bite.

Classica · 14/02/2022 19:15

Special ire for those who say they don't want a dessert and then start tucking into yours.

Eileen101 · 14/02/2022 19:17

Absolutely nothing. Stay away from my dessert Hmm

At a Christmas meal out, DH tried to suggest we shared a dessert because he'd had a starter. Erm no Hmm that's my problem, how exactly?

I'm not a dessert person but I wouldn't tuck into others 😂,I would rather have two starters tbh .
JustLyra · 14/02/2022 19:20

DH and I have been laughing about this all afternoon after seeing an advert in the window of a local restaurant that had 'shared desserts' on their special Valentines menu.

We reckon this is more of an argument causer than romantic.

gogohm · 14/02/2022 19:22

Sorry bucking the trend here, I steal Dp's dessert, I always decline then he offers ...

Isseywith3witchycats · 14/02/2022 19:22

if a sharing dessert is offered i ask for two plates as no way im digging into a pudding that my OH has dipped his spoon into after its been in his mouth

NewYearCalavicci · 14/02/2022 19:23

You are not the DP of another poster by any chance are you ? he would not give his partner another scoop ( yes scoop ) of Venita

I dont mind them having a small sample , ie we both have cheese cake and want to compare the raspberry to the strawberry flavour , but other that that joey docent share Grin

Well there's a spot in the seventh circle of hell reserved for you!
LifeInAHamsterWheel · 14/02/2022 19:25

Jesus I'd LTB for less. Luckily my DH is of the same opinion so it's separate desserts all round Smile

Sexnotgender · 14/02/2022 19:26

Nope, if you want a dessert fucking order one!

TatianaBis · 14/02/2022 19:27

I don't eat pudding very often so when I do it's all mine.

umm I presume you are happy to kiss and have sex but not sharing a desert because the spoon has been in his mouth then in the pud ?

Odd but each to there own I guess Confused

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 14/02/2022 19:29

Me and DP always share a pudding.

We always share starters too

WishIwasElsa · 14/02/2022 19:32

Sometimes when we go to one specific place I get a dessert eat some and then oh finishes it as I can't. The portions are massive and I always leave a fair bit of my main to have room for dessert. I am not usually a competitive under eater BTW!

NeverDropYourMooncup · 14/02/2022 19:35

YANBU.

On the rare occasion I find something that fits with Celiac Disease and Dairy intolerance, it's mine - ALL mine.

No fucker is having 'just a bit' of the only thing I've found that doesn't cause my insides to turn outside and won't make me ill for weeks afterwards. Except DP, because I know he would have one taste if offered and not want any more than that if he didn't outright refuse.

Classica · 14/02/2022 19:42

I'm glad you found one another.
ArticSaviour · 14/02/2022 19:43

If I order a dessert I do not want to share.

However, given that neither child ever finishes their dessert, and DH is not that reliable either, my standard dessert order is a spoon.

maddiemookins16mum · 14/02/2022 19:44

We always share. But then again we both have one so I get 2 desserts really.

KohlaParasaurus · 14/02/2022 19:44

If I don't have room for a pudding in a restaurant my DH always asks for two forks with his without me needing to say anything Star and I come from a family of food sharers. But YANBU, I can see lots of reasons why people might not want someone else digging into their food.

I mean, I'm not a fan of sharing either unless we have one each and try the other but presumably this is a man you're sleeping with Confused
