To say no to a sleepover when the family have covid

My DS is sulking with me because he wants his mate to come round for a sleepover but I have said no as the rest of his mates family have covid 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m not being at all unreasonable am I? The friend is negative at the moment but who knows what will happen over next few days.

Seems wise to postpone it.

Tell him to wise up, his mate can come when they don't have covid in his house

CraftyGin · 14/02/2022 15:40

Of course YANBU!

Edenspirits · 14/02/2022 15:41

He’s really cross with me but I don’t want bloody covid at half term!!

It’s your decision but DDs BF actually came to stay when his parents had Covid. He did do several LFs first though

MaizeAmaze · 14/02/2022 15:48

I'd have them if they did a lateral flow the day they came.
They might not have it, and even if they do, they might not pass it on.
Noone got covid from DS in this house - and that included his brother sharing a room, me co-sleeping some nights, and single or 0 vaccines.

Cognoscenti · 14/02/2022 15:48

YANBU, I wouldn't want to risk being unwell, expecially as it can be postponed until they're well again.

Wannabangbang · 14/02/2022 15:57

Yanbu before you know it that kid will test positive too unfortunately

CarrieBlue · 14/02/2022 15:59

Huge outbreak in my DDs class after school residential - not a chance she’s having a sleepover for the time being whether there’s covid at home or not.

elliejjtiny · 14/02/2022 16:40

Yanbu at all

Chloemol · 14/02/2022 16:42

Yanbu

BurntO · 14/02/2022 16:43

No thanks! YANBU. It’s really contagious and I wouldn’t want me while family coming down with it. Same with a sickness bug or chicken pox

ibblebibbledibble · 14/02/2022 16:44

I’d let him.
