AIBU to just want someone to really look after me, the way I look after everyone else.
I don’t mean the boring take for granted housework or work stuff, I mean to really think about me.

Yanbu, at all. I want to fuck off to a spa retreat and be waited on hand and foot.

MoiraNotRuby · 13/02/2022 21:45

Yanbu. Sounds like the universe /life needs to send you a break. In the meantime - CakeFlowersWineBrew

Jjjaaakkk · 13/02/2022 21:47

Yessss!
But I don’t mean to be given just a break, I also want someone to just care 24/7 365 in their sleep like I do. Cos I feel so alone.

Probably asking too much

Who do you have around you? Dh/dp? Children?

Jjjaaakkk · 13/02/2022 22:21

Yes I have all them! Lovely husband, lovely not perfect! 3 teenagers, mum and step dad.
But they all always need stuff, it’s incessant. Most of the time they’ll do something if I ask, but I always have to ask. The house is usually busy and has people in it, but I’m just so lonely. It doesn’t really make any sense

No that makes sense. Its very easy to be lonely while surrounded with people.

Go on strike and see how long they take to notice and if things can change

Jjjaaakkk · 14/02/2022 07:41

Good idea! If that doesn’t work I’m running away!

With some people, you do have to ask, some people you don't- my dh can tell somethings wrong, but it's my youngest dd who'll buy a bunch of flowers, run me a bath, give me a hug and a cup of tea (it's not a common event, but the memories stick!).

Would a day off work help? Spend it going for a swim? Browse for a new book or hobby bits? Anytime just focused on you and self care, I hate the phrase and when I'm feeling in a poor state I think what a ludicrous concept it is until I actually do it and put my needs in the drivers seat.

Jjjaaakkk · 14/02/2022 15:39

Of course you’re right, I just need to schedule in some me time that can’t get hijacked
