My son has Covid he’s been generally okay, no temperature, cough etc. But he’s has awful backache and the last two days he’s cried with pain in his legs that he describes as growing pains but a millions times worse.
I’ve been giving him plenty of pain relief, warm baths and he says laying in my bed with the electric blanket on helps. Just wondering if anyone else’s children experienced this. We are day 6/10 and still positive on LFT.

Yes exactly the same. My husband had really bad back ache and thought it was from digging but tested positive. My younger son then had awful back ache and was positive so we figured it was from covid. Other son also complained of growing pain type aches. It certainly is a weird virus!

Back pain has been identified on the Zoe covid study as a symptom of Omicron. They don't really know why.

2 of my children and myself have covid at the moment, dreadful back pain for me and one boy, knees are painful and clicking regularly. Thought omicron was supposed to be mild but My youngest has been really poorly and I’ve been wiped out by it.

Not sure about covid but tonsillitis gives me and my kids awful back pain and achey limbs. Probably some sort of reaction to your body fighting a virus ?

Yes my 11 year old had awful back ache, crying about how much it hurt.

My friend and her 11 year old also had back ache too.

I had terrible back pain with covid, similar to the pain I had with malaria. In malaria it's caused by your kidneys working overtime to rid your body of the parasite.

DD had Covid in September and had terrible pain in her legs, slept in my bed as couldn't climb the ladder of her high sleeper. She had a temperature for 5 days too and lots of other symptoms.

However, she recently caught covid for the second time and apart from dull hearing has been pretty much fine.
So natural immunity + 1 vax and a different variant seem to have eased symptoms.
