To take child swimming 48 hours after vomiting

Is it unreasonable to take a child swimming 48 hours after vomiting? LO was sick last night so we cancelled swimming planned for this morning. He was very upset and I wondered how long we have to stay out of the pool for. Seems fine now, so would be nice to go later this week if no further issues. He has been nervous after missing a lot of swimming due to the pandemic but was really excited to go today. Online I find references to 2 weeks for diarrhoea and vomiting, but less specific information for vomiting alone. Last time this happened we did wait the whole 2 weeks and missed 2 swimming lessons, but friends said they wouldn’t bother waiting so long for vomiting alone. Thanks for any advice.

I think 48 hours is standard for a tummy bug.

If he’s 48 hours clear I think it’s fine.

I'd hope you left it to next weekend, as I've had swims and aqua classes ruined by somebody's child puking in the pool after being ill on the Friday.

My understanding was 48 hours after the last episode of vomiting or diarrhoea. Obviously wouldn’t take them if they didn’t seem completely well in themselves though.
