Dinner plans what to do?

I'm just wondering if I'm BU here. So tomorrow myself and dh are heading out for dinner. We haven't been out together in ages so I am/was looking forward to it. In-laws are taking kids early too which is great. I booked the restaurant for evening time (dh fully aware and was the person who suggested we go out in the first place and the date too) now he has announced he wants to head out early to watch a match then head out for dinner. So I've two choices put the fancy dress I bought on and go sit in the pub feeling so out of place or not go or alternatively meet him later but he'll have been drinking before I meet him so not sure that will work either

I'd go out earlier personally and just keep your outfit more low key? Or still wear the fancy dress but put a blazer or something over it to give the illusion of being more casual?

Can he watch the match at home before you go out?

Why isn’t your husband sticking to the plan you agreed on an option? Why can’t adults just follow through with the plan they put in place beforehand?
