To ask how many people work in offices?

FelicityBob · 10/02/2022 13:59

Just that really. I don’t work in an office and not many people I know do. But that’s probably because we’re in a rural area.

So just a simple vote for my curiosity

YABU - I work in an office
YANBU - I don’t work in an office

You know this poll is going to be wildly unrepresentative of anything, right?

Probably Smile Was inspired by another thread saying about people commuting for hours to get the the office. That’s like another planet for me and most people in my area. So just curious boredom while passing time before the school run Grin

I have 2 jobs, one is in an office and one isn't!

ShallWeTalkAboutBruno · 10/02/2022 14:10

Most people I know work in an office of some description.

Indecisivelurcher · 10/02/2022 14:11

Before covid or after covid? I have an office job. But I haven't been there for 2yrs. Even before covid I worked from home two days a week. I'm wondering whether the office will end up being closed down...

FelicityBob · 10/02/2022 18:41

Pre covid I guess

Did work in an office, still in same role but now permanent WFH.

ChoiceMummy · 10/02/2022 18:51

Never worked in an office as wfh permanently, now as I did before covid.

gillybean2 · 10/02/2022 18:56

Work in an office and live rurally. I commute…

JaninaDuszejko · 10/02/2022 19:05

My brother is a farmer and has an office which he works in for part of the day. I'm a scientist and for most of my career I worked in mainly the lab but still had an office to write up my work. I know architects, doctors, etc all of whom work in different places but still have an office as well. An office is just somewhere to sit while doing written or computer based work and most jobs have at least some written or computer based work.

TDCtomorrow · 10/02/2022 19:09

I've worked in an office for 25 years

blueshoes · 10/02/2022 19:10

qualitygirl · 10/02/2022 19:15

I have been wfh for over 10 years - but I have a room in my house that serves as an office - so zero commute but still an office - which option do I choose?

WatchoRulo · 13/11/2022 11:32

Dang! The Zombie troll strikes again.

Lovegossip · 13/11/2022 11:34

I wfh (down south) three weeks of the month and travel to our HO in Leeds to work for 3-4 days, with the company paying for travel and hotel

Zanatdy · 13/11/2022 11:35

I work hybrid hours. Meant to be 40% min, I do around 50%. It’s a really nice work / home life balance. I do 3 school hours days and log back on when I’m back, instead of 2 longer days. Means I’m home before dark and can work until whatever time I need to without thinking I better get back to my teenage daughter.

Igglepiggleslittletoe · 13/11/2022 12:07

Office worker since 2018. Have a home office since covid but still commute half the week to the actual office. I cannot imagine working or doing anything other than pushing papers and pens about the place and my calculator is a direct extension of my arm at this point.

Igglepiggleslittletoe · 13/11/2022 12:07

2008 not 18!!!!

BamBamBilla · 13/11/2022 12:10

I work in office job but wfh and have done since long before covid. I commute to the office once a month which is 4 hrs away. I live rurually.

BaronessBomburst · 13/11/2022 12:14

Pre-Covid I worked in the office.
During Covid I worked in the office.
I still work in the office.

Yes, it's as dull as it sounds.

Dougieowner · 13/11/2022 12:22

WFH 2-days a week and office for the other two.

Wasn't loving the commute pre-lockdown and WFH for 2-years proved to me what a pointless exercise it is.
As time goes on I can see the WFH option being removed completely so have voted with my feet and are leaving.

Abraxan · 13/11/2022 12:23

I don't work in an office (school)

Dh does.
