Continues Headaches 14 weeks pregnant

Hello
I am nearly 15 weeks pregnant and for the last 13 days I have had throbbing headaches. They only go away with paracetamol
Today I am onto day 4 without taking paracetamol and the pain has not left me at all
I don’t want to take any more painkillers but it’s the only things that gives me any relief
Has anyone else experienced these types of headaches

Hi, I'd suggest you ask your midwife, or have a chat with a pharmacist? Hope you find an answer soon.

Are you taking Pregnacare? I found they gave me horrendous headaches. I switched onto another brand and they went away. But yes, talk to your midwife. Good luck.

Hi OP that sounds awful. Poor you.
I used to get migraine really badly and it's miserable.
It was hormonal in my case, but also caused by dehydration. I upped my water intake and it helped a lot.
Just wondered if you could try this too. Good luck, hope you feel better soon.
Also congratulations!!

I got headaches related to iron deficiency, could it be that?

maras2 · 10/02/2022 13:34

You really need to get your blood pressure checked.

Blossomtoes · 10/02/2022 13:34

It’s a bit early for it to manifest but headaches can be a symptom of pre eclampsia. Get a midwife check.

Merryoldgoat · 10/02/2022 13:51

See your gp or midwife to check your blood pressure and urine. PE is unlikely this early but not impossible. My hypertension started at about 16 weeks and headaches was the main symptom.

Please don't rely on what random people off the Internet say. Ring your midwife now and speak to them, they are the knowledgeable ones. It's not a hassle to them, it's what they are there for!
