Starting a new job in a couple of weeks, super nervous, and it’s a stressful at the moment finishing at my existing job… I want to start my new job refreshed lol any tips of things to do before starting at a new workplace?

I had a week off in between jobs last year and did all the things I wouldn’t want to take time off for once I started. So things like doctors and dentists. Although that did backfire slightly as I ended up needing two fillings and a root canal so still had to take time off for another 5 appointments!

If you don't already make sure you know your route to work (it you're not working from home) and a back up, this definitely helped me feel less worried.

Also I don't know about others but the first week or so at a new job is just teaching you and getting you on board so you just need to turn up and a good company will take you through it all so no need to worry about the actual job at that point.

More generally, think about what lunch you can take, what are you going to wear, see some friends before your diary is super busy!

New notebook/stationery always makes me feel fresher.

Haircut, and manicure/eyebrows/etc if you do that. If you have time off I second @Sunsetsupernova’s idea of life admin like dentist.

The first week or so at a new job can make you feel a bit knackered, so how about sorting batch cooking, meal delivery etc so you can relax in the evenings as much as possible? Depends on your family set-up of course but might take some needless stress away.
