Was her house well known for being the prettiest in the area? Confused Grin

Can’t imagine getting worked up over this. Surely having rubbish broadband would knock money off your house more than one single pole ruining the non existent view?! And if this was the case why would you publicise it to the world?
YABU- she’s nuts
YANBU- She needs to chill it’s no big deal

I used to pass there in 1974 on my way to work at St. Crispins Psyche Hospital.
It looked a bit of a hovel then. Smile

These poles are popping up everywhere, tbh they just look similar to the telegraph poles providing phone lines. You can your bottom dollar that those complaining about the new poles also complain about slow broadband😂

She's being ridiculous.

Threewheeler1 · 10/02/2022 12:20

Oh my word, surely it's a joke article?! This has made me laugh so much Grin
It's 'medieval' like a 'gallows pole' and her 'view' (of houses over the road) has been 'split in half'!
Or is it just a telegraph pole bringing essential services to the community...?
I'm off to ring the local paper about my lamp post related depression and how devastating it is to know that people will probably point and laugh at my ugly house...

ODFOx · 10/02/2022 12:38

I thought it was going to one of those enormous metal things with satellite dishes all over it. It's just a completely normal wooden pole.
Poor woman. She must be really struggling if she can get worked up enough to contact the press about this.

AutumnLeaves21 · 10/02/2022 13:48

@Threewheeler1 that’s what I thought! Spoiling the view…what view?! 🤣🤣🤣 bonkers

I know where this is - its a nice enough area but nothing special - its just a telegraph pole- like any other telegraph pole.
She needs to get a grip

I have family there. Depends where abouts in Duston she lives but we do have gorgeous countryside. Although that pole really isn't too wide! We live in the next town.

AutumnLeaves21 · 10/02/2022 14:57

@WingingItSince1973 there’s a picture of her “view” in the article…it’s literally a row of houses across the road 😂

It’s Northamptonshire not the friggin Lake District it can’t be that nice anyway 😂

ODFOx · 10/02/2022 15:12

I've had a look on street view. Because she has tall trees and shrubs on both sides of the garden to make it more private/enclosed than all the other properties on the estate, the view from her front door must be quite narrow, and will literally be spliced by a lamppost. I think that the picture in the paper was taken with a wide-angle lens. However it is their choice to narrow their view with trees anyway.
They are clearly very garden-proud and it is well kept, so they are likely to be more concerned about their outlook than the average person.

Linda, if you are reading, it really won't impact a potential purchaser as much as it does you, so don't worry about your house value. To the rest of us it is just a pole. Lovely shrubbery, by the way!
